We organize our Malama Weekends on the beach of El Palmar, Cádiz. 

El Palmar is one of those wild and unforgettable beaches where surfing and good vibes rule. There are always conditions to surf both for beginners and advanced levels, being one of the most valued surf spots in Andalusia. 

Almost five kilometers of fine sand run along this dog friendly beach. 

In addition, in this small corner of luxury you will find charming cafeterias where you can have a coffee facing the sea, shops with clothes and surf and skate equipment, bars where you can toast with a beer and restaurants where you can enjoy delicious local food. 

It is the dream setting where you can spend a unique weekend!

Of course, Malama Surf Experience is designed for all levels. The vast majority of girls who come have never been on a surfboard. We would love that you learn to surf with us. We go from the level “I’ve never been on a board but I’m dying to learn” to “you have to see that I’ve been surfing for three years now, but I still haven’t mastered getting up because I don’t surf as much as I would like”

Our surf coaches adapt quite well to the level of the women who join, and being a fairly small group, this helps us to make the attention somewhat more specific and personalized.

Above all your desire and illusion to live a new Experience!
  • Some sweatshirt or jacket because it cools down at night.
  • Bring the typical beach things: sunglasses, sunscreen, towel, flip flops and a bikini to wear under the wetsuit.
  • ID card or passport.
  • European health card or private insurance card.
  • In case you suffer from any illness and take medication daily, please do not forget to bring them. If you are allergic to any food, write us your situation in comments.

If it rains, but the sea conditions (waves) are not unfavorable, the Experience continues. Rain is not an impediment when surfing. The Experience would only be canceled in the event that the sea and its conditions do not allow us to enter the water. In addition, to carry out the other activities there would be no problem since they could be carried out in a closed space. 

Malama’s cancellation policy is as follows: If we cancel, you will get a 100% refund, so we will refund the full price of Malama Day. If you cancel:
  • Up to 2 months before the Experience, you can cancel at any time for a 100% refund.
  • Up to 1 month before the start of the retreat – 50% refund (loss of deposit).
  • Less than 1 month before the start of the Experience – no refund.
Yes, everything you need is included in the experience. From the neoprene, surfboard, to the yoga material to carry out the class. You will only have to bring your towel, swimsuit, flip flops, and things from the beach.

If you are not in Andalusia and your best option is to take a plane, getting to El Palmar is easy, as there are many national and international flights that arrive at the nearest airports. The closest is Jerez de la Frontera, followed by Seville and Malaga.

The essential thing is to know how to combine them with other transport such as the car or the train.

By car you have about 40 minutes from Jerez, 30 minutes from Cádiz, 1 hour and a half from Seville and 3 hours from Málaga, cities with RENFE stations and airports.

From Cádiz:
If your idea is to get to Palmar beach, Vejer by train, you will have to make a journey whose last stop is Cádiz. Vejer does not have a train stop, so to get to this coastal town in Cádiz, you will have to rent a car, in your own car or by bus.

The train station in the capital of Cádiz is about 50 kilometers from Playa del Palmar. Inside the train station there is a Europcar office in case you want to rent a car. If you prefer to go by bush to Vejer, the Cádiz bus station is right next to the train station. You don’t have to leave the station, just follow the signs that will take you to the bus station. The bus line that covers the Cádiz – Atlanterra section stops at Palmar.

From Jerez:
If you come from Jerez Airport, the best option is to take the train to Cádiz capital. The C-1 line. Cádiz-Jerez Airport, will take you to the capital from where you can travel by bus or car to El Palmar. This option is not entirely fast, but if your flight arrives in Jerez it is one of the possibilities.

In Cádiz you can take the bus line that covers the Cádiz – Atlanterra section, it stops at Palmar.

Of course, in case you have your own board or wetsuit you will only have to communicate it.

We will eat healthy food. The food is all organic, vegetarian, seasonal. 

  • 1x Surf session with our monitors in Palmar.
  • 1x Snack before the Surf-Skate class (when we have surf skate included).
  • 1x Surf Skate Class (when Malama Day includes surf skate and not yoga).
  • 1x Organic Lunch as a picnic on the beach or lunch at Homies restaurant.
  • 1x Yoga class.
  • 1x Empowerment workshop to close the day.

Yes, all our Mermaids that repeat experience will have 10%. 

The only difference is that the Malama Days are individual days without accommodation, you come to do the activities until the end of the day, while the Malama weekend is a full weekend, which includes accommodation. We spent a weekend together, from Friday afternoon to the Sunday that the experience ends (Sunday with activities included).
